Sociology provides important background for many jobs in which understanding of people's social backgrounds is important. One good example is Human Resources Specialist. Other examples might be Youth Counsellor or Probation Officer. Sociologists are also employed "behind the scenes," gathering and interpreting opinion survey data and other demographic information.

I have a soc. undergrad, to be honest, unless you get a master's there doesn't seem to be a lot out there to be a "sociologist"
There are lots of things you can do though, if you are into the numbers side you can do data collecting and sorting or surveying.
You can always do human resources or customer service.
I think having a soc background and solid writing skills can help you in journalism or advertising.
Social services or government jobs are a possibility too.
The good thing is you can go into almost any field as far as a masters is concerned.
Good Luck.

Sociology is the study of society in general. You could be a counselor for lower income families, or a social worker. You could work in the jails to try to help those in there to make something out of themselves. Or a writer studying human nature. Not sure what others are out there, but I like you, love to read about the social issues in our society, and would love to help to make it a better place by volunteering myself in my community projects where I live... You could also probably be involved with your city.

Walmart greeter; cashier at convenience store; fast food worker; sanitation collection & disposal; car wash attendant; used car sales; retail sales of most any kind; janitor of most any kind; the list is endless.
A sociology degree is worthless except as the foundation for further education.
