Of course they are, the season isn't even halfway over yet. A better question would be if the Royals are still in playoff contention.

They are still in it, however only one team from the AL East will probably make the playoffs this year. It looks right now that the Wild Card will come out of the Central.

Yes but so is everyone. What difference does it make? Anyone could come back in the second half of the season. And it doesn't matter anyway because the Tigers are going to win the World Series.

They are only 3.5 games back from the sox - of course they are still in playoff contention. I am an die hard Red Sox fan, and hope they don't make it- but they probably will. They have great talent which makes for great baseball! GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the Yankees can do it - because even though they are missing Sheffield and Matsui, they still have a dominant lineup.
