Because he spoke the factual truth, and the political left that dominates university faculties, especially Harvard, can't stand the truth.

Simply because he intelligently tried to say that women have different aptitudes in subjects compared to men. He got no end of trouble from the Left over that.

He didn't get along with the faculty very well and also made some...ah, undiplomatic comments about women in math and science.
