I have a computer running XP, every so often an alarm like sound starts coming from the CPU. It is crazy and loud. I have no idea why or how to stop it.
ANY IDEAS? HELP!

It's probably the cpu temperature alarm.
Depending on your board, there is a temperature alarm built into the cmos. If it is alarming, maybe your cpu is getting too hot.
Check your fan and make sure it's working well. You may want to replace it with a bigger fan to keep it more cool

might be cpu on the motherboard is getting hot. that is what it sounds like. get a can of compressed air and take off the side and clean the cpu fan/ motherboard.
