This was a question in general. I didn't need to know it. I say hello and take it from there.

You just answered your own question. The hardest part for me has always been an initial shyness. I warm up pretty quickly but very rarely ever make the first "move" That is something I am working on. I can do it over the Internet just fine. In person, well that's another story. I may trip over an electrical cord or drop my iced tea in his lap. lol. I'm a little clumsy. And I laugh a lot.. a little too much... What is up with that? 38 years old and still giggling??

A smile is the universal sign for "hi". Let the smile open the door. If it doesn't, then introduce yourself. After you get to know the person, get the person to talk about themself. You can ask generic questions then specific ones, but generally a person likes to talk about themself and tends to like people that are interested. Then you need to be fun, funny and smile alot. Good luck

sounds like you answered your own question. If u are looking for a real friendship as opposed to someone to be friends with, remember there has to be some sort of connection or chemistry. Lasting friendships usually start with a smile but take time to build into something truely unique and special. Don't expect to have friendships with everyone. If you have just one lifelong friendship, you are blessed and you'll know from that first smile whether you two are connected or are just friendly...... good luck. And if you do start one, cherish it as something meaningful, rare and special
