Why not? Go there and make one.

If the people that make movies are here or there, they tend to center in those places because the important people and skilled services are there. We can, and do, build cars in lots of places but Michigan is a big location of auto factories in this country--because the related and skilled resources and people that are there. Then they are also in Georgia, Alabama, California and such. The same with movies. Many are made in New York and a wide variety of, get this, it is important, locations. Want to make a movie in Tennessee, go for it. But some of the best editors, mixers, modelers, etc. are in southern California., or New York, or London, or Hong Kong, etc.

One of the main reasons is that most of the movie studios in the 20th century were located in Hollywood and the vicinity. That meant lower costs in shooting films, plus a lot of the actors lived in that same area. It was convenient for all.

Recently though, more movies and television shows have been shot in other states and Canada because of lower costs to the studios. Those other states and Canada give the movie studios incentives to shoot their movies in their cities.

Because hollywood and all the other studios are here.

That and California has very varied natural settings. You are only an hour away form the Metro, the beach, the valleys, the mountains and deserts.

Because the weather over here is very stable. You wouldn't want to make a movie in the middle of tornado alley during the season and get your set messed up and not to mention the actors getting killed.
