Diving is cheating but there has been a lot of it lately like Grosso for Italy against Australia. If Joe Cole did it i would not class him as a cheater because Joe Cole would only dive out of an act of despereation. Rnglish football isn't about cheating it's about winning and some players would do anything for it such as: Robben, Drogba, Grosso, Crespo, Kuyt and sometimes Henry

No, England winning the World Cup for the second time with a debatable goal. Remember 1966 and a debatable third goal. Good luck to them. Every team has had a player who has cheated or simulated a foul at some stage of this World Cup.

this depends on which national league I watch
1)If I'm a premoier league fan, I would call him cheater.
2)if I'm a serie A fan, I would call him a hero.
3)If I'm a scolari fan, I'd say "joe isn't jesus."
4)If I'm an Indian, I would not call him anything at all, because there they don't have such a concept like diving in the penalty box.

dorian_gray: Are you sure you know what is going on in the world? You know that it is PROVEN that that was a goal by a computer? What about the 1982 win of Italy, full of tangenti, and now, with at least 3 penalties against Italy not given and that farce of penalty given to them? And to that italian fan, italy only rule with tangenti, that's the truth!

If he dives tastefully, maybe I'd call him clever.

But that dives by Italian player in the match against Australia, that's distasteful and made me ... ew ... and the referee made me even sicker for giving that penalty with only seconds to play.
He robbed Australia of the chance to win.

Diving should result in automatic red card, but it is not cheating if you are not caught.

If a player plays agressive and is given a red card you don't say that he cheated.

well, it is unfortunately part of the game, but I would lose my respect for the team. They one of the few left that rely on skills instead of intimidation to win
