There are web sites. It's called a child support calculator. You can figure in everything from his and your wages to any extra things you are paying for. Childcare, private school, etc. Also if either of you have children from other marriages to support. You can actually print the paper out and use it when you go back to court. Well, at least in N.C. you can. Just type in child support calculator and you should get lots of hits.

Definately need to consult with a lawyer.
Your income will be compaired to his and the overall expenses of raising a child.
Since your X makes very good money he will definately be responsible for most of the child raising costs.
Make a list of everything you spend money on for your son. Food, cloths, recreation, doctors, baby sitter, ect.., each and every thing that requires money needs to be on that list.
It also may help to make another list of the rest of your expenses that way the lawyer knows how much you make and how many bills you have.
Rent or morgage can also be a part of child raising expenses, as well as electric, water, cable, ect..
Good Luck!
