Depends on what you use your computer for.
If you do a lot of floating point calculation (Excel), then a similar model Pentium will be faster than Celeron.
Compared to the equivalent Pentium, generally Celeron is cheaper, has less cache, and slower.
As to heavier claim, it's not true. The chip itself is so small and light, it won't make a difference. However, since Pentium uses more battery power, thus the similar computer model may need bigger battery, thus heavier.

The difference is that celeron doesn't come with memory cache.
That helps while multitasking.
The answer is NO. There's no a huge difference between each other.
Needless to say pentium is still faster then celeron.

The basic difference is that a Celeron doesn't have a math co-processor. So the Pentium will always be faster, but it will use more power.

Celeron's don't last as long as Pentium processors. They aren't as well made.

Yes, celeron was just created for people with a smaller budget.
Pentium performs much better especially the new dual-core models that can take on twice as many programs.

I would personally upgrade to PENTIUM... my last CELERON processor had more problems on it that Windows ME had in 1 hour...
