I read somewhere that prolonged and untreated symptoms of a sexually transmitted disease can lead to PID, or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. Your best option is to never ask a medical question on the boards, but to simply call your doctor and schedule an appointment for an examination followed by consultation asap. Also discuss with him the chances of childbirth after PID. Best wishes to you.

Feel free to call the doctor's office and talk to the nurse. Tell her that the PID was addressed with your last visit, but you think a UTI may be in play, too. Should you be taking another kind of medication? Or should the doctor see you again?
Be open with the nurse and the doctor. Getting you feeling better is what it's all about.

depending on the medication you were given for PID you could very well develop a UTI. It's a common side affect of some antibiotics..if your having trouble urinating,it's got a strong odor or different color then usual it very possible. You just may need to switch meds..relax and call you doc or try looking on line at your medication and see what it says..good luck

when i was pregnant im also tinking that i might be suffering from UTI, i told my OB about this, she didnt ask me anything about what I feel, she just prescribed me a medicine and it really helps a lot. The name of the med. is ZINNAT capsule or tablet, either of the two, can't remember, available OTC, and simply ask the pharmacist about the indication because there very much familiar with it. I hope this is a good help. Good LUck!

You don't really need your dr. if you have a uti./
No soda, tea or o.j.-tons of water & cranberry juice.
If there is pain on urination-go to drug store and get Uristat. It will turn your urine bright orange-don't freak. It puts the urinary tract to sleep while you are flushing your toxins.
If it continues-definitely see your dr.
Good Luck

I used to get UTIs a lot. Drink lots and LOTS of cranberry juice and water. Also, buy some AZO cranberry/urinary tract pills (in the pink box). They work like a charm!
