It means freedom and Independance. We should all reflect on ALL men and women in uniform who have died and continue to die to protect that freedom. That's what it means to me. This holiday was earned in the blood of those great patriots.

Fireworks, campfires, flags, watermelon, hot dogs, FREEDOM.
Late at night I love watching the big 4th of July program outside the White House (on tv). I cry every year from all the beautiful songs and Patriotic people. I wish someday I could be there too.

The Fourth day of the moth July in each year, celebrates our independence day, which means that we are independent from all other countries, we have our own way of viewing things in our own perspective, this makes us as Americans unique, this gives us our freedom, this make each American know that when he/she leaves home every day, they know the person next door, they know the person at work, they know that person who called them by mistake because they called the wrong number. We all know each other in a special way, we are all united in a special way, and when it comes time to stand up for what we stand for, we stand side by side, in infinite wisdom of each other and our country that we should serve so proudly. We all have a purpose, and my purpose is just that. so, do u agree, is this not the very meaning of the 4th of July and is everything that our country stands for not the reason why this became?

It means to us here in Northern Ireland. that there are only 8 days to go after the 4th of July until the 12th of July. Which is for most of us OUR day.

A day representing good ideals that could stand some polishing by the original authors in light of current events. Too bad the original 14th amendment was never officially ratified...
