Generally speaking military action in the mid-east is a bad idea. It does make things worse. Afghanistan was a good idea since that country was in total anarchy anyway. Iraq was a bad mistake. There was no Al-Qaida in Iraq before we invaded. If you neocons would learn about Saddam, you would know that he would never let an independent para-military organization in his borders, he was much to paranoid. Don't believe me? Read the 911 commission report. It is there and has nothing to do with the so -called liberal media. Things will get worse in Iraq, the terrorists are increasing their numbers dramatically. Bush did not think this one through at all.

Bush likes to talk about Political capital. After the 9/11 tragedy, the U.S. had all the political capital in the world. We started out well, going into Afganistan and eliminating the Taliban, but Osama ran to Pakistan. With all of our capital, we could have stood our great Army on the border and told Pakistan to get him and bring him to us or we're coming to get him and no one, not even France would have objected. But what did we do, we turn around while Osama showed us his *** and shooting us birds and ran to fight Bush's Revenge War in Iraq. Was Sadam a demon, hell yes. Did he deserve what he got? Hell Yes. Did he have WMD's or ties to Osama? Hell no, that was hatched in Cheney's and Rove's minds.
Now, we have Korea saying "screw you, we have the bomb'' - aka WMD's. Iran saying, "screw you and the unarmoured trucks you rode in on, we're getting the stuff to make a bomb". Osama's still calling shots and Saudi Arabia, Syria and probably Iran are sending in fighters to Iraq, and we can't do crap about it.
So to answer your question, it's not that Bush keeps sending us to was, he's sent us to the wrong war at the wrong time.
Oh by the way, after "Mission Accomplished" and we found no WMD's and the CIA acknowledged the link to Al Qaida was phony, our story changed to "Well, Sadam's a bad, bad man and we needed to get him." Fine, what about Somalia? If we don't address that, Bush either lied again, or just left us so over extended and quagmired that we can no longer fight the real fights? Either way, it's not good.

Well, either he is deluded enough to think that our going to war with a country that had no connection to 9/11 and possessed no weapons of mass destruction is actually good foregin policy,(which I don't believe one man could truly be that deluded!) or there is no limit to the lengths that some will go to for unfettered power and money.

You know what Bushy is thinking as he sends the troops? Good for you. Maybe we should just run home to Mommy and send a loud and clear message to the rest of the world.
We are not the French.

Your question is based on fallacious reasoning. You assume too much, mainly that going to war makes things worse, and if it does, that the president knows that.

I don't think he's trying to make things intentionally worse. If we don't fight them, they will fight us. Yeah, it has some things to do with oil and all that jazz, but I think he's waiting for the right time to pull out, and now just isn't it.
