Hang Japanese beetle traps somewhere away from your trees. I put up a couple last year and drew all the beetles around. It puts out a sexual ( to them) aroma. And they really work. You catch 10 lbs. of beetles a day. But don't hang them from your trees.

Sevin dust will take care of them

I have tried the traps but I think all they do is bring my neighbors beetles into our yard.

Sevin is safe, fast and effective.

If you do use a pesticide, be sure to apply it so that it won't
kill honeybees. It takes a bee three days to die from Sevin,
during which it can carry the pesticide back to the hive,
poisoning more of the nest. See
