I think the idea that my space was created under was great. Unfortunatly, just like anything in society today, bad people had to go and ruin it for the good people. The sexual perverts who want to molest little kids are all over that website. You truely don't know who your talking to unless it's a friend of yours. I would say, as long as you just stick with people that you know for sure who they are, then you'll be fine. Just don't start talking to strangers.

Well I think it's bad with regards to those horrendous 90's looking personal pages. But design aside, I can understand you sisters' concern. There have been quite a few MySpace-linked sex crimes and adults are concerned about the safety of the site. But I mean, really, there have been many Internet-linked crimes involving young people meeting up with strangers they met online who weren't what they claimed to be. I think the best thing you can do is to just be careful with what you do online. It doesn't matter if it's on MySpace, Facebook, AOL chatrooms, or whatever, there are weirdos everywhere. Just be careful with the amount of personal information you give and be extremely careful if you ever decide to meet face-to-face with people you met online.

Myspace is fine if your about 14 and older. If your younger than 16, your parents should be monitoring what your doing online. The whole guy meeting the child thing, parents fault and hers cause she lied about her age. If he knew her real age, i don't know whether he did or didn't, then it wouldn't have happened i'm sure. The problem is parents aren't really doing their job. I use myspace to meet people and check out new cool bands. Nothing wrong with that. Just be smart on what you do on there.

i don't think it's bad but you know what people fake there identities in the net and you tend to believe it some time and fall in love with that fake person and get cheated/hurt... ;) that's why it's bad I guess...
