one day i was feeling very depressed, i remember i didn't want to get up from bed, or cook or anything, i was like that for few days, and one day i get up, and i was drinking a glass of water, and a thought came to my mind............listen to your christian music, i have a cassette tape with spanish music, with songs like, he's the mighty one of israel, and some others songs so i put that music on, and little by little i start feeling better, and for the honor and glory of God i will tell you, that i haven't been depressed since then, so listen to christian music and talk to God, he's there, waiting for you.........God bless you........i would like to share this with you.................THE BOAT CAN BE YOUR LIFE, THE SEA YOUR EMOTIONS, THE WIND YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES. WHEN YOU FEEL OVERWHELMED BY THE THINKGS THAT ARE BEATING AGAINST YOU, ASK JESUS TO CALM THE STORM-----HE'S ALREADY IN YOUR BOAT!...................God bless you and lift you up

Well, I'm not a religious person at all so I personally don't listen to gospel music. It really depends on what is depressing me. Sometimes I get online and talk to some friends, maybe listen to some music and surf the net. I might play a video or pc game. Even sleeping helps, cuz by the time I wake up, I'm over it already.Just take a deep breathe and just keep telling yourself it'll be ok. I wouldn't depend so much on other people to help you cuz one day, you may not have anyone and you'll just go crazy!

Read the book "feeling good" by david burns or any other book on cognitive psychology (albert ellis has a couple good books). The gist of it is that how we think about things is critical in determining how we feel. When you are depressed your thoughts tend to make you more depressed (think things like: bad things always happen to me, other people are jerks, nothing ever goes right, I'll never be happy). Replacing those thoughts with more rational thoughts makes all the difference.

What I do is stay in my house for days on end sometimes even just my bed. I can't face the world. That's not what i should do but it's what I do. I should call my best friend or talk to my boyfriend or just let him hold me. Or could even call a family member like mom or sister or grandma. Try to occupy your mind with things. It's kind of like that saying idle hands do the devils work well so does the mind. Get it to go in a different direction. What helped me is going to a website called About.com they have a forum kind of like this but its on depression. Wonderful people get back to you almost instantly m,ost of who are in your shoes. Good luck honey

I allow myself one day to feel blue. Listen to some good ol'Blues tunes and be by myself. Then after that day I focus on funny. Funny movies, comedians, jokes, funny friends...it's the one sure way of getting outta the blues.Laugh. Smile. Count your blessings. How can you be blue when you're laughing?

Listen to music. It's really the only thing that gets me out of it. Or I sleep and then feel about 20x worse. Music has kept me sane through some crazy things in my life.
