I haven't, but a trucker friend of mine who has traveled all across Kansas and Nebraska and that part of the country has explained how they happen. They are not made by aliens.
What happens is, a truck driver falls asleep at the wheel because those states are so boring to drive through-- hour after hour of nothing but wheat, or corn!
So they doze off and run off the road. Maybe the truck goes over a barb wire fence. Big deal, there's no big impact, it isn't going to wake up the driver right away. Unless he hits something big and solid like a tree (very few of those, out there!) he won't wake up right away.
Eventually, the crops slow the truck down gently and gradually, until it stalls and stops and then the driver wakes up.
He looks around figures out what happened to him and has to turn his rig around. He may have to drive in a big circle or spiral or he may try driving in different circles until he finds his way back to the road.
The central part of where the wheels chewed up the crops (and the soil) is strongly visible. The path to and from the road is less visible, and if a day or two goes by, the crops may even regrow or recover enough so the path is not visible, but it may not be recognized for what it actually is.
Presto! Crop circle, with repeated pattern (tread) in the middle! My friend knows what he's talking about. He's done it.

No, not individually seen a crop circle or a flying saucers or a Koala undergo , i'm a curious one nonetheless..the incontrovertible fact that such extensive captivating designs seem ( some in 3-d) keeps me discovering and traveling web pages that take care of the venture. One curious concept even nonetheless we seldom ever pay attention from the farmer or rancher approximately crop circles, I mean there looks lots crop harm.... i think of an more suitable question may be is "Why is there UFOs and Crop Circles and Koala Bears?"
