What do you think about the following sugestions to be introduced in soccer before world cup 2010? Personally, I think FIFA doesn't know what he is doing.

1. Own goals will no longer count.
2. If a ball hits the goal post and the ball goes in, the goal will not cout.
3. Two referees will oficiate the match. This means, there will be two referees on the field of play.
4. No cameras will be allowed in the venue where the match is to be played.
5. Spectators are not allowed to make any noise.
6. A player who gets a card will have to leave the field of play immediately, and if he tries to argue ~ he misses the next match.
7. The won't be any red cards. A yellow card is enough to send the player off the field.
8. A goalkeeper can handle the ball anywhere in the field, but he cannot score it with his hands to the opponents ' net.
9. Penalties count for two goals.
10. And finally, a draw no longer counts 1point, but two ~ and a loss means you owe points (i.e. -1 point)

No to one, no to two, no to three, there should just be one head ref it simplifies things, no to four, no to five, on 6 do you mean he cant come back in, or he just has to leave the field for a few minutes, with his side playing with 10, and then he can come back in? if so, yes, if not, no, no to seven, no to eight, that would be awful, they could carry it down, and drop kick it into the net from a couple yards away, no to 9, and sort of to ten, i think this should be the point system: four for a win, two for a tie, none for a loss in regulation. In the group stage, ties at the end of regulation should go to two ten-minute halfs of extra time, silver goal style. If still tied after extra time, the match would then be a tie, it would NOT go to penalties. If there was a winner in extra time, that team would receive three points, and the loser in extra time one.

1. Own goals: they have to count because otherwise, on a ball that was going in, the defenders would just kick the ball in the goal instead of trying to actualy get rid of the ball.

2. goal post: WHY? What if you took a shot and it just barely grazed the post and went in...not fair that it wouldn't count.

3. Two referees: Absoultely not! I've played in games like this in highschool and it results in both referees thinking the other guy is going to make a call then neither one calls it. Also, if the referees have different styles it's VERY difficult for players to adjust their way of playing.

4. No cameras: The popularity of the sport would decline rapidly...I love soccer, but I can't afford to go to the World Cup, so I wantch on TV.

5. Spectators: Perhaps they are allowed to cheer, just not be rude, obnoxious, or insulting to anyone.

6. get a card and leave: Not sure where you are going. If they get a red card, they leave and don't get to play the next game as it is. A yellow card is just a warning.

7. Yellow is automatic elimination: That's WAY too strict. The yellow card is a great game control tool at times.

8. A goalkeeper can handle the ball anywhere: wouldn't work because goalies would just run the ball all the way up the field and throw it to someone to score because you can't kick the ball from the goalie's hands.

9. Penalties count for two: WOW, really harsh! An almost guaranteed goal is a bad enough punishment.

10. a draw counts 2 points, and a loss is -1 point: So are you going to raise the value of a win to 5 points?

3 is definitely a good idea. The field is just too big for one referee.

6 doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me - are you talking about red cards? In that case, nothing really is changed there. It makes more sense if it's used in conjunction with 7, but I don't think 7 is a good idea - have the yellow card as the final warning.

Although, if you mean, if he gets a red card and doesn't leave, he misses an extra match on top of the one he already has to miss - that might not be a bad idea.

The rest aren't good ideas. Especially 10 - you'll see even more 0-0 games than you do now, because a win and a loss gets you two points, while two draws get you four points. That's not right.

I stopped reading at number 5. All are just silly.

For number one: if a person is there defending, and the ball rebounds into their own net, that is NOT the other teams fault... sorry, but that is the chance they take, (including in hockey - rebounds happen!!).
If the ball hits post and then into net, it is a goal. Period. Just like in hockey. It is like saying that in basketball, the ball must NOT touch the rim of the net - silly silly.
You always need 3 referees (do you know why?? there are 3 in hockey also) and if you cannot spell the name of 'oficiate' then you cannot comment.
If you think that the most popular game on the planet, and has the most amount of fans (HUGE difference between 'spectators' and fans) will NOT make noise, first, go to a game in South America or Europe and get back to me.
Numbers 6 to 10 are just a continuation of silly recommendations. This game has been around longer than hockey, american football, basketball and baseball put together and muliply all times 10 (and more!!!) - it has been around for a reported 2000 to 3000 years!

Point is - if you don't like the rules, don't watch the game (I bet you are a novice at watching it), OR your favourite team just lost. Sorry, but the above will never come true. Suck it up and move on and enjoy this great great game and the amazing players that play it...

FIFA is not a 'he', it is an organization. HUGE difference - HUGE..

Sounds incredibly Fascist.

Not allowing the fans to cheer or the photographers to take some shots is completely undemocratic. Thankfully FIFA understands that the fans ADD so much to the game (in a positive way).

They just need better refs.
