if they are cute or hot, when they only have a picture of a silly cartoon? I just do not get it. How are you supposed to know if somebody is attractive by looking at an avatar?? Please fill me in, am I missing something here? Thanks, and have a good one.

A: because they're bored as hell.
B: because they're obsessed about making sure everything it their lives is "OK" or cool.
C: because they just want to ask another dumb question.
Everytime I see one of those questions I report it for personal correspondance. I figure if people are stupid enough to fill up Answer's computers with BS then they don't deserve any points from it (you get an extra 2 points taken away from you for a violation on here in addition to the 5 for asking it, I only got that once)

They are kids with low self-esteem that are unknowingly setting themselves up to become a statistic by being stalked and preyed upon by the same perverts that stalk and prey through MySpace.
Doesn't matter if they use an avatar or not. Their self-esteem is still dangerosly low enough to catch the attention of those freaks.

Its just sophmoric behavior. They are probably kids who are asking if they look hot. They most likely still watch cartoons and play with barbi's and dont' tell anyone about it because they are still kidsa but trying to be adult, ya know, 12, 13, 14 year olds.

sometimes they provide links to photobucket. But most of the time we are expected to assume they look like their avatar lol yeah right. If their eyes were that big theyd look like aliens and nobodys hair is that perfect :P

They ask dumb questions for the same reason that women have their lips plumped up so BIG that it makes them look like they've just been hit. For attention.
