1998 Toyota Camry, windshield spiderwebbed from flying debris. If I can get a good windshield from a wrecked car, will a glass company install it for me?

A glass company will install it but as the gentlemen before have mentioned they will not warranty it. A lot of time when a windshield is removed from a car the edges become slightly nicked. When the urethane (glue) used in the installation dries it pulls downward on the glass and may cause the glass to break (stress crack). This puts you in the situation of having to go through the process again and doubles the original cost.

A glass company will install it for you, but they will usually not warranty the glass. When glass is removed from a vehicle, it can be slightly damaged and then break through no fault of the installer, during installation.

Compare the cost of a new windshield (installed) with the cost of a used one, and the additional installation costs. You may find it is almost as expensive to put in a used glass as a new one!

probably not because the glass company wants to sell their own product I would also not advise getting from a wrecked car because the glue used could prevent resealing of the windshield causing you problems

Yes they will, as long as you don't damage it removing it from the junk car. They are a pain to remove. Takes lots of patience.
