My parents are divorced and I am 14 and my mom has custudy of me and my brother who is 13 and we both want to live with our dad...So in North Carolina...that's where we live..how old do you have to be to choose where you live?

I live in Virginia... and the judge gave my son a "voice" when he was 10, and I got custody @ that time. I would say it depends on the judge and what has been going on.
A friend of mine suggested to my son that if he wanted to stop visits with his father, that he should start a journal or diary and discribe the events of the visit from if the parent was late picking up or dropping off.. to what happened during the visit. Then go to court after about 6 months of documentation, and see what the judge has to say.
Unfortunately mine never came to fruition because my ex decided his new family came before his flesh and blood.

everything depends on the situation. If your mom who has custody of you is capable of providing for you and is a good parent, the choice isn't really yours to make. unless your parents decide to go through the whole custody battle thing again so a psychologist can evaluate the family and give his recommendations and then have a judge decide, you are pretty much with your mom until 18

In most States it's 14..and up to the judge after hearing the story.
My daughter came to live with me when she was 14..it was a legal no-brainer.. Have you told your Mom or your Dad of your choice?

you should be old enough for your opinion to count, but a court must look at who is best for you guys, does ur mother work, and so on, it is hard to seperate kids from there mother, i hope u guys get what u want
