I've recently picked up play the guitar. I somewhat understand how to read tabs and chords, but I still can't strum! What's the best place to learn how to strum on the guitar?

Don't listen to people who tell you that if you can't strum the first time you pick up a guitar you might as well give up. I started playing the guitar about 4 months ago and have just now started to be able to strum properly. It feels unnatural when you start learning so it's something you need to teach your brain. The key to learning how to strum a guitar is to always keep your hand moving, even when you're not touching the pic to the strings. Your hand should move up and down for each beat of the timing: ex 3/4 time your hand should move up 3 times and down 3 times within each one-two-three, but only actually 'strum' the pic on the giutar maybe 3 or 4 times, depending on the sound you want. Don't give up.... once it clicks it's an awesome feeling! But honestly... maybe it's just the way I learn but I found that any online 'strumming' helps I came across didn't really help me at all... I just learned from watching other people who are good at playing the guitar.

you can't strum?! Hun, if you're that uncoordinated maybe you should give it up. Check youtube.com, they have guitar lessons there.
Plus it depends on what type of music you're trying to perform.
