I read the book and saw the movie but never heard anyone else talk about it.

yes ive seen the movie it is a very good movie with a lot of well known actors.patrick swayzee,rob lowe, emelio estevez, matt dillon,ralph machio and leif garret id recommend it highly

We had this as a mandatory read in Year 9 (high school) in Australia. One of the best things I have ever read - I can't believe the author was only 19 at the time she wrote this.
She had two other really good novels, possibly more - one of them was called Rumblefish.
Ponyboy was a great character and that poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" has been with me all these years.
I did enjoy the movie, but the book was really something else.

Yes, absolutely. It's from 1983 by Coppola. He seems to be an expert on spotting early talent as almost everyone in that movie became famous. It has the following people when they were very young: Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Thomas Howell, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, Diane Lane

I read the book too. It was good. I didnt even know they had a movie out thou. Im going to look into that. I read the book in middle school.

yes! its was one of my favourite books/movies in high school. It stars; Patrick Swazye, Rob Lowe, Ralph Mochio, Matt Dillion,Tom Cruise, etc etc. lots of stars before they made it big.
the story was written by S.E. Hinton and was made into a movie in the early 80's i believe. this is one of the only books turned movies that was almost identicle to the book.
a great movie, if you havent seen it, watch it, especially if you've read the book

I saw it a long time ago.It was a great movie. I believe Patrick Swayze was in it.Also I think Tom Cruise had a bit role.
