I understand why you feel the way you do. Pregnancy leaves pounds on ya. True. Everyone brags about how breastfeeding helps you lose weight....but in my case, Breastfeeding makes me HUNGRY all the time, and I crave calories. So I actually get fatter. LOL!!!
I have also wished there was a weightloss pill safe to take while breastfeeding, but I also know there isn't one....because 99% of diet supplements/pills aren't even Federally regulated (FDA approved). You don't want to risk the health of your baby. Once she is older, and has weaned....then look into it.

So, just chalk this one up to "the most important sacrifice I am making for my baby's first year of life". Because Breastfeeding is a HUGE sacrifice, and committment, and act of love.

Check with your DR.... He / She will be the best to advise.

Remember anything you ingest will also be transferred to your baby while breastfeeding. It's just a little something to remember...I'm sure you already are aware of that it's just a reminder.

Right now your baby's health is most important. The nutrients that are derived from the food you take also nourish your baby.

Besides almost every single diet pill that has come on the market has been taken off because of dangerous side effects....now do you really want that for your baby?

There are no diet pills that are safe to use when breastfeeding. Remember, you really should wait until you finish breastfeeding before trying to lose weight. You don't want to deprive your baby of important minerals.

Breastfeeding actually helps you lose weight in itself. It also helps the uterus contract back to its normal size. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen over time. Also, whenever it's possible, lie on your stomach. This will help your stomach go down. I also used girdle panties. They really helped alot!

If you like to eat sweets, fast foods, etc., you may want to try eating more healthy foods.

Your baby needs you right now. Dieting later is best.

No... all of them have chemicals in them that are not safe in breast milk. Actually, dieting pills are not really safe for mom either. Most pills have products in them that are not safe for your body. Also, you should not try to lose weight while you are breastfeeding. That said, I'm sure its hard to not get back to your pre baby size. Its okay to lose 10-20 pounds, as long as you do it safely and slowing 2-3 pounds a week. Pills were not made to do this, they are made to let you lose weight rapidly (which is often just water and nutrients you need) to lose weight this rapidly while breastfeeding hurts your body and deprives the baby of nutrients in the milk.. I know its hard.. but try to wait a while longer... after you stop breast feeding, the weight may fall off anyway. Sometimes that extra weight is just your body's way of making sure baby is getting enough of what it needs.

I would never take a diet pill while breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should burn a lot of calories with out a diet pill.

I know that you should not be taking a diet pill when you are breastfeeding. It affects your baby and his/her health. I also know that Weight Watchers offers a plan for breastfeeding mothers. Your baby will still get all the nutrient he/she needs that way and you should be able to shed some unwanted pounds a bit faster.

If you eat healthy, breastfeeding is the best diet available. Everything involved in breastfeeding burns about 1000 calories per day.

Eat healthy for you and the baby.

Diet pills aren't safe when you're *not* breastfeeding!! I would not suggest using them *ever*.

Instead, please read _Eat Well, Lose Weight While Breastfeeding_ by Eileen Behan, R.D. It is an excellent resource on nutrition (regardless of whether you are breastfeeding *or* want to lose weight), and it is written by an expert.

NONONONONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU NEED ALL THE CALORIES THAT YOU TAKE IN TO FEED YOUR BABY.

Breastfeeding is one of the best ways to lose your pregnancy weight. It burns 500-1000 calories/day, so keep it up. Most diet pills contain stimulants, that can be passed to your baby through your milk and cause them to have slow wieght gain.

These same stimulants can cause a decrese in your milk supply as well as keep you from getting the rest you need for your body to properly heal after childbirth.

You don't need one. Just by breastfeading you are burning an extra 500 calories a day and shrinking your belling at the same time.
