In many cases it says English is not their native language. In too many cases it says they are intellectually lazy, complacent, or deficient - or just plain ignorant. Your own grammar could use some work - but that's true of all of us. There is no perfect grammar, but some grammars are better than others. Don't listen to anyone who says grammar and punctuation are not important. Their importance is that they facilitate understanding. Careless grammar and spelling not only increase one's chances of being misunderstood, they are impolite to readers and thus likely to make them stop reading the offender's words.

By the way, what's wrong with phonetic spelling (see next answer) is that it severs the relations between words that have the same origin. For example, do you know what 'do' is? How about bread 'do'? How about 'donut'?

Here is a question close to the heart of what is wrong with our current civilization.

Years ago these where basic skills drilled into our children under the threat of physical punishment from the teacher... now without the ability to discipline children effectively the teachers job becomes almost impossible and these basic skill are not attained by many. You will note that the skills are passed on to emotionally stable and sensible children.

What is the real problem? Humanity is still trying to realize itself by continually changing the systems that we feel are not right.

We know corporal punishment is not right... removing it though has produced the results we see today...

People on mass are yet to understand their own emotional problems and what causes them and so most parents can't be expected to help their children emotionally because they them selves are emotionally immature... that immaturity is simply passed on to the children... monkey see monkey do.

Until shows like jerry Springer are just not possible to make because there is neither the people nor the audience to cause it you should bring back the cane!

The other alternative would be to issue parenting licences and only those with a licence proving they are emotionally balanced and self realised would be allowed to have children, very tough, very practical and too sensible so it will never happen so I'm trying to get off this planet!

WAKE UP PEOPLE... educate yourselves.

So what does it say about them?... do we need to even say it?

It is likely they are typing quicker than their thoughts but then if they do not review that which they have written why should we! And if the thoughts are so fast much faster then the fingers... what say you?

Well, in the event you imply right here on R&S, I wish I do. I understand my grammar and spelling are unhealthy (close to wrote is), however it's the message one is attempting to carry that's predominant. True, grammar and spelling support get the factor throughout less difficult and make it less difficult to be taken severely. Spell investigate does now not paintings at all times and normally I attempt to reduce and paste for the explanations above. Yet I can get pressed for time and simply write as satisfactory I can so the man or woman can recieve a well reply which must now not be pressured with a scholarly paintings. My Father, who most effective has a sixth grade schooling, can slightly write and but while he does I don't write him again or right him. He merits appreciate and is really wise on non secular issues and different places as good. Plus there are few portions of apparatus he can not function. We of the College set would gain knowledge of from his instance. Only a idiot passes up capabilities considering of grammar and spelling.

I think some people just don't care anymore. Some are just lazy. Some not smart enough. Some are just in a hurry. Some are like me, lazy, in a hurry, kind of dumb, and after a while I just don't care anymore. So, there are many answers to this but when I see them I just try to see the heart of the question. Your not going to change anybody. I vote for the next answer though. Thats really me.

It says....that in a "philosophical" sense, “Grammar” in which the very existence of Grammar is in dispute.

What if Grammar was not correct in the way we have designed it to be but all words have their own place in the world as Phonetic beings and should be treated and spelled out as such.

If you think of the question in this way,

Especially when there's a spell checker. Most of the time I think they are young. The other times I think it's a case of English as a second language.

i am just about to go on aresidential course to study philosophy.
the course describes philosophy as thinking about thinking. there are certain words, phrases and ideas that in philosophy have specific meanings that might differ from their meaning in everyday speech. i think use of grammar and syntax falls into this category.
philosophy teaches precise thinking.
i hope this is clear!

Most of the phliosophers I know are pretty laid back. They might be educated, but they could care less about formality in a forum like this. This ain't a writing assignment!
