Cats are independent, solitary creatures. They are okay with being alone.
With dogs, it's all about being a part of the pack. They form families around eachother, even if they aren't related. Think about the packs of wolves you see on TV. You'll never see one alone for long.
To a dog, you're just another dog. You're his/her family, his/her pack. And they'll do anything to make you happy.

Cats are more independent, but they definitely can be just as affectionate. I'm a big fan of both cats and dogs. Though I've never had my own cat, I volunteered at a shelter called C.A.T.A.L.E.S. where the critters are allowed to roam outside of cages. Some were abused and didn't trust people anymore so they didn't like to be messed with. Some were abused and abandoned but somehow found a way to forgive. There were about 89, and even with all those other cats to hang out with many of them absolutely craved human affection. One cat, Amelia, would take any chance to jump on your shoulders and rub her head against yours. Her purring was so loud that I can still hear it! Another would wait until I had to clean the litter boxes so that she could try to crawl in your lap!

Dogs are group animals by nature, they are accustomed to dominance hierarchies and they cannot live without the pack.
They are also predators. They have a pretty similar ecological
niche to ours. We are group animals and predators.
Horses are similar, except a bit separate due to being prey animals rather than predators. If we act less like predators we can get along better with horses.
Cats are naturally solitary, only coming together to mate.
Our domestic cats have learned to tolerate each other to some extent, and to accept people as friendly beings. But they are NOT accustomed to social hierarchies, nor do they find comfort in groups. They have come a long way from their wild roots to be with humans. Cats can learn to do tricks, they are often very affectionate, and most people have no clue how to foster these traits in their cat, since we are so different socially.

Because dogs are hyper and want...DOGGY TREATS.
But cats are lazy and just get fish from the bins.
Cats will get food from the bin cause their owners don't feed them alots of cat food.
Dogs get food because they try their best entertaining their owners and that will make the owner impressed.
So the dogs just do that for doggy treats!
Mostly of all cats arn't aloud outside mostly to do exercise and theres house cats who just stay in houses.
While dogs go outside and have a walk and run

I'd say cats are more independent. I mean cats do care but I don't think they're big fans of doing it lol.( I happen to be a huge animalover and I happen to own 2 dogs (technically 3) and about 17 cats. But trust me if you went into my home you can't tell.Unless you see them ofcourse lol.But my room is covered in animal things lol) but anyways trust me as a wise animal lover once said "the cats really do care but they show it on their free time from being lazy" lol.

Have you ever owned a Hound? They really dont care to please you either. It comes down to what they are used for, or what they WERE used for before they became just pets. Labs and shepards love to serve you, they work with you, they are energetic also. Hounds are meant to go off on their own and you are to follow. They work on their own., and they arent often seen exerting too much energy.
Cats are independent and were never used to do any work for us, except catch rodents and keep our feet warm. That being said, my cat acts like a dog and comes when called and greets you at the door, BUT he wont fetch me the paper or be my seeing eye cat. But he WILL piss on the wall when he gets mad!

Cats are from the Lion and Tiger family and they don;t really like to be bothered either, but now as for dogs, they will roll over and let you scratch their belly for a Scooby Snack.

Dogs give unconditional love. Cats only love those who deserve it. I think thats a cool feature of cats, since it mean more to be loved by them.
