I need fast rendering and somthing that will work well with audio. I'll be saving alot of my stuff on an external drive and will be trying to get alot of work based on this computers performance. I'm not to comp savy so If anyone can direct me to publications or other sites that have user comments that would be awesome. As for price I would like to keep my spending under $2000, but hope I can get a mac that will help get me work as an editor for hire.

To be honest the macbook pro is not that much better than the macbook, considering the price difference anyway. If you need more than onboard graphics get a pro, if not then the macbook is still badass. I bought a pro, and it's amazing, but the only reason was because i could do with 2 firewire ports and it has an expansion slot which can be used for firewire.
I'm a video editor and the extra screen space on the pro is useful, but i've heard the macbook still runs final cut really well.

In your case, a Mac Book Pro seems to be catered more to your needs.

The MacBook Pro comes with a more "business professional" look, so that's what I would recommend to you for your expanding business.
