Moving to a new state while you are in high school can either be the greatest opportunity or the worse nightmare. Since it doesn't sound like your family has given you the option of staying at your original home, you're just going to have to suck it up and make the most of it. This is an opportunity for you to reinvent yourself or introduce a whole new group of people to the amazing person you already are. If you move during the summer, make sure that you don't just sit at home moping, get out and explore all the places that kids your age hangout...malls, theatres, parks, and social groups at church. Be sure to keep your lines of communication open with your parents so they know how lonely you are feeling. Ask them for their support in letting you test the waters of this new location. Good luck. Hey, I'm hoping you're moving to Tulsa, OK because you sound like a neat person to meet.

whats up!!! I had a similar thing happen to me when I was in High School. However,i actually moved to a different country. It was a real shock leaving all the friends I had made and having to start over but it turned out to be the best experience of my life. I was rebellious for a little while but once I saw how things really hadn't changed i relaxed and just went with the flow, home was still home,I met people who had gone through the same type of change as me and just being yourself is the best thing. No matter where you are people will except you or not, just be yourself and use the time to grow in who you are.High school will go faster then you think and you just might meet that perfect someone you've been looking for. Friends will happen,it's summer now so maybe look for a summer job that will get you into contact with other kids your age and from the same area( a movie theater or ice cream shop),look for a youth center or a local church..

I would have done anything to move to a new state while I was in high school. Everyone in my class still saw me as the grade school nerd that I was, but I had changed...big time. I think that if I would have started over, high school would have been a lot more fun. Nobody at your new school knows any dirt about you either! That's a major plus. You get to decide what kind of group you want to be in, and just go from there. You can always keep in touch with your old buds...and maybe on spring break, go and visit. I think it could be a positive experience, and it could very well prepare you for college and beyond by helping you gain more maturity and decision-making skills.

that's hard I remember i had to do that in high school. Try not to think of all the good things you will be leaving, instead think of the bad things you will be leaving. Maybe your grades are not all that great
(which was the case with me lol) so you get a new start in a new school with teachers that don't know you have had a tendency to screw around in the past. Just try and think of things you would like to change about yourself you have a fresh start where nobody knows you. Good luck and try and have an open mind about this I do know it's hard but you can make it a positive experience.

It's like any where in the world. You could be moving from one town to the next and it will still be the same. HARD! The best thing you can do is be yourself. Get involved in sports and school activities. But don't hang with just any person ( you don't want to get hooked up in the wrong crowd) just because your lonely. It takes time. Good Luck. Just remember high school does end, it's not forever!

While I was in High School, I was tossed back and forth between my parents after they divorced and my father lived in San Diego, Phoenix, Dana Point and Denver while my mother was in St Louis MO.
It was hard being away from friends that you meet and became close to but exciting meeting new friends! Just keep in touch with your long time friends and the transition will become rather easy and fun.
Good luck on your new adventure in moving and try to look forward to it and stay positive.

I moved when I was in my second semester of my junior year in high school and it was the greatest experience. I attempted new things that I never would have tried at my old school. I made great friends and had the opportunity to grow as a young adult. It helped me to "find" myself. It also helped me to turn down a different road in life.

I just take it like it is and try to make new friends at the state that i'm moving to. I understand that making new friends might seem hard to do but in reality once you settle down it's like the new friends make you.

think of it as broadening ur horizons, stay in touch with old friends but make new ones, dont be quik to judge, and defifnitly DON'T talk about anyone, that will get you the wrong kind of friends or no friends at all, mostly dont act, be yourself, but you can also use it as an oppurtunity to try something new, like a new style, change your style try new sports, no one knows you yet so they wont be hesitant to accept the new you
