y cant girls play football some of us are better than the guys and can handle the tackles..... like me i am better than some of the boys on my schools team but girls cant tryout im sure if we could play football then maybe some of the teams out there would be better than what they are right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a female try out in high school for our team she quit after the first week. alot of guys would seriously hit her hard for know reason. I honestly believe you could try out for your high school team the problem is that you are going to take a lot of abuse from the guys on your team and the opposing team.

But the question is probably asking why can't females play footbal with males.
I think brookbvn had the perfect answer. Most can't play at that level, or the expect the rules to be changed. So what if you can beat your cousin, or tackle the kid down the street, or can beat "some of the boys on the team". Be realistic, those are not the people that play football on teams, those are the ones that sit on the bench and maybe get in at the end of the game if the team is winning by 5 touchdowns. The people on most teams are bred to play the game, defensive players are benching above 300 pounds and running 40 yard dashes in under 4.5 seconds. If you are a female and can do those sorts of physical feats and can handle the hits, by all means, sign up for your team. But in reality, females that can hang with the males on the football field are few and far between.

Of course girls can play football, The question is at what level. In the earlier ages of 5yrs- 9yrs, many girls are more physically mature and beat up on the boys, however in the later years -middle school and up the boys change and pack on the muscle speed and size. Its genetic, that's all. Football is a very strength demanding sport and I have only seen a couple girls in my life that could compete in high school football. Many guys feel uncomfortable hitting girls in football, which is more of a gentleman thing. I have seen many girls try out for football, but in most cases its a stunt to get attention and almost all girls quit because of the running and especially when they are really hit in full pads. Once they stop seeing stars and can walk strait, they usually pack it in and claim they were harassed and not treated fair---its a big mess. Remember girls, throwing a football in the back yard is not the real experience. Its more like throwing a football and getting hit by a a car and then getting up and doing it again and again and again.

I'd love to watch women play football.....and it should be on during the late winter and spring so I can watch football for a much longer period of time...it's a shame.
Also, it might be hard to find enough women that want to play football to actually have a decent sized league without sacrificing the talent...and without talent, I wouldn't even wanna watch it.

my cousin is 3 years older than me and he was on his high school football team and when ever we would play football i could throw the ball a lot longer than him and even catch better than him...it just isnt fair!

The Lady Gamblers are a great ladys football team here.
They are really motivated, they practice with the guys, and the travel even farther to compete against other women.

I know what you mean! I mean girls are just as good as boys really my brother wrestles and I always wanted to but me as a girl was never able to try out I loved the sports and I really wish could of been on the team and most people think girl won't be able to take the pain but we can take it just as good as the boys can!!

Girls can play football. There was a girl on our high school football team. She even earned her JV letter.

If girls can play at the same leval then they should be alowed to play as long they are willing to be treated like any other male player

i have no problem with girls playing football.as long as the same goes for boys.can thay play fast pitch softball or fieldhockey.if girls can play football.boys should be able to play girls sports.
