I'm thinking an inexpensive moisturizer that I could find in a drug store, though I'm willing to pay more. Give me any ideas, please!

Johnson baby oil lotion is the best, and lots and lots of water makes your skin glow.

Baby oil gel. I comes in different scents.
Just a tip:
exfoliate first in the shower with apricot scrub, step out of shower, do not dry off. Rub the baby oil gel on all over like your putting on lotion. Then dry off. You will not be greasy or anything. You will be completely moisturize and your skin will be ohhh sooo soft.

The very best for the $$ is Eucerin. Buy the kind that comes in a tub. It will cost about $15, but it should last you for at least 6 months. It really is that good. And it's hypoallergenic. My pediatrician recommended it for my newborn baby and I fell in love with it for myself!

I have extremely dry skin so I have tried a bunch. My favorite is the body cream from Bath and Body Works (not the lotion, the cream). You can pick from a bunch of scents too, which is fun.

Water. It costs very little, and it is the only moisturizer.
