Because they are very stupid, live in fear of being alone, and don't wake up to reality until shortly after saying "I do." Judging from what I see here, I think a good time to get married would be after living with someone successfully for about 15 years, and certainly NOT before you are ... 60.

I don't understand why people date for 2 and 3 yrs. or longer before getting married.

My brother and his wife knew each other three months before they married and that was 31 yrs ago. They are still happily married. Of course, that is not the norm, but it worked for them.

Honestly, I think when you love someone you sometimes have a fear of losing them. So your reaction is to jump quickly and try to marry them, so that you feel like you have their commitment. It's not the best idea, but sometimes I think people do that.

People that waits "forever" to commit themselves to each other even though they kept on claiming that they love each other, mainly means that they are not sure if he/she will be the one. They kept on making excuses that there are other things that more important than your relationship which basically means that you are on the 2nd place of his priorities.

Because they don't know what they are doing. Maybe they are insecure and just can not be alone. Infatuation and lust can all too often be mistaken for love.
