Was Ping Pong named after the games inventors?

Actually it was one stoned Asian guy. He originally wanted to call it Ping's Bong but the PR people thought Ping Pong would be more public-friendly.

They had to flip a coin. It was either Ping Pong or Whiff Whaff.

Beats the heck out of Whiff Whaff.

no it was named after the sound of the ball when it was hit on the table. i learned it in gym class.
