How about investing it in your first mutual fund, then adding to it as often as you can? Then you can retire a millionaire instead of retiring as a poor man.

If I were you I would go and put $100.00 in a post office money order. When you need to cash it in for a rainy day they don't charge you anything. I would spend $5.00 on some tasty little treat, like anything chocolate but not some cheap stuff - get the $3.00 Godiva candy bar with nuts. Take $30 and send your Mom flowers on a Saturday morning. Take another $30.00 and take your dad out for lunch at Chili's and let him order the steak. Take $20.00 and take your girlfried out to see a movie at an Imax theater then eat dinner at home. Take the other $20.00 and spend it randomly in the grocery store, the coffee house and walgreens for any person you feel like deserves a financial blessing. Then you go and spend that $100 bucks that's burning a hole in your pocket on something you've wanted with a price tag of $100.00 or less. This way you give back what you were blessed with. You buy a stranger a cup of coffee - you are doing the Lord's work. You treat your mom and dad to something unexpected - you are honoring your mother and father. When you treat your woman to something different she loves that spontaneous unselfish side of you a little bit more. When you treat all of them, treating yourself doesn't seem so hard. You will probably slurg on $5.00 cd's and dvd's at Circuit City and have change left over rather than get the latest expensive stuff that will be on clearance and out of date by Christmas. And just as importantly you saved for a rainy day. These little things add up to priceless memories. But don't forget to spend five bucks on a camera so that you will always remember your loved ones' joy and surprise with your unselfish deeds and kind heart. God has blessed you - be blessed.

A great time to invest in the stock market, make wise investments and the best return you can get is in the energy sector. The consumables are the best sector to invest into.

The various energy companies that I would recommend you park your funds into are VLO, CHK, XTO, XOM. Most of these stocks are currently undervalued, if you want to play safe then invest your funds in Defense Sector (GD, UTX) or Bank Of America.

Read Investors business Daily and keep track of your companies that you invest in. For more rules to follow I advice you follow IDB's rules of investing, these rules do not apply in highly volatile sectors e.g. Energy, Oil, Exploration & Production.
Good Luck.

Is this $305 the only money you have? If so, please save it for an emergency or pay off credit card debt. If this is extra money and you have plenty of savings, then I would buy new LCD monitor.

I suggest you to open a brokerage account at Scottrade and invest in Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony and make $305,000.00 USD in a few decades.
