What did you think when you downloaded Limewire and started downloading files from sites and people you don't know. There is very little on the Internet that is totally free. You pay a price in some way for everything that says their free.

If you insist on using Limewire and other programs like it and download free and mostly illegal files, you will continue to get Malwar. Just get used to it.

By the way, you will get real good doing reformats and all the necessary downloading and setups.

I not ever had a hindrance with Limewire till I downloaded a software and a deadly disease popped up (however it was once looked after via my McAfee defense program). Unlike different methods I've attempted ago (Moerpheus and Kazaa within the early 2000's) Limewire does no longer have spy ware. Stick to songs (mp3 simplest) and movies/films (.avi simplest) and also you must be good enough. Run an anti-virus sweep now and again simply to be riskless. Download and proportion moderately and also you should not be stuck or sued via a few tremendous tune or film enterprise. If it's been strolling for decades or I'm downloading plenty of methods it might probably sluggish down web velocity to a move slowly. Sometimes this keeps even if Limewire isn't strolling - nonetheless rebooting my cable modem continuously will get the web strolling traditional once more.

Well, it sounds like you've answered your own question then! You know it's not safe -- you learned the hard way -- so why bother asking??

No P2P system in use is safe, not even Torrents. The malware writers know that there is a large bunch of fools that think that they can get something for nothing and they leverage their stupidity for their own purposes.

Of course, there's always the risk that you'll get nabbed by the RIAA. That will cost you 12 to 20 large. The more you do it, the greater the chance of getting nailed. There will probably be a post from some weenie claiming to have dozens of gigs of stuff and never had a problem. His or her day will come. Deal with it if you want to mess around on the Dark Side.

It depends on your def. of safe. If you really trust your source, then MAYBE. If you download something and It says that it couldn't run ie: "Memory is low." Then you have possibly downloaded a trojan, and your in trouble. Is the chance worth it? Ask yourself, is $1000 for a Computer worth $100 of music/ programs.

I have had several bad experiences with this software. Every time I have used it, or other P2P programs, I have had problems. I used to have to format my HD every 6 months because of all the junk it caused. Try using torrents instead, like BitTorrent. Do a search with that word. It might help.

I dont believe that any file sharing programs are free of viruses. You can go to the top of this page and in the search for questions bar,--type-free antivirus programs.--then sift through the answers and download all the free antivirus software.even if you then back them up onto disc just to have on hand when you get infected.A good site to visit for information on clean and infected file sharing programs is---http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/
