If you were a teenager in the '60s, did you think that song was awesome back then? Of course we didn't use the term "awesome" but......you know what I mean!

Oh yea! I was a teen in the 60"s...Those were my favorite years. I really liked the Beach Boys"s songs...among hundred's of others....Back to your song..Just a line in the song goes-
You've given me a number and taken away my name.

Absolutely. One of the most memorable songs of the period. Wasn't it used as the theme of a TV show. 1964-65 or '65-66?
It is one of the few songs that Johnny Rivers did that wasn't a cover.
BTW, is there any truth to the rumor that his real name was Juan Rivera?

I like it too. At first, it sounded like he was saying, "secret Asian man". But figured it out after hearing the whole song.
