I went to their web site. Personally, I think they are distributing their wealth in an incredibly efficient and benelovent way. Do you agree? Any possible way to better allocate those Billions of US Dollars.

They do seem to do a very good job. I work with a local library, and we received computers, peripherals, software and training from them in 2002, items a small library in a economically deprived rural area could never have afforded. Those computers are used daily by many citizens of the area, both kids and adults. They did a first-class job of distributing these items, and providing training to be sure they were well-used.

They have also done much good for health issues throughout the world.

With the addition of Warren Buffet's billions, should be able to do even more in areas of need.

I find that the Gates Foundation is making more and more people aware of the needs of others not only here in the US but globally. Both Bill and Melinda have taken a serious role in not only helping but getting involved in a hands on way to make sure that money and help gets to the people who need it. Bill Gates has taken on this responsibility with the same determination and dedication as he did with Microsoft. What I applaud is their goal to help turn around the education of the US, for many years now we have fallen way behind other countries on the UN listing on education. Helping to create different schools meeting the different needs of children and bringing about awarness of the need to educate so that the US can compete in the future global marketplace is so needed. Someone only on his level could make people sit up and take notice. If interested you can sign up for the Gates Foundation newsletters to see what they are doing and what they are planning for the future. The Gates's understand that the only way to create change is through education.

I wouldn't have believed it, but it looks like they're not big old greedheads after all. I've heard a lot of good things about the foundation in the last 5 years.

Now with Warren Buffet joining in, maybe it will get to be a status symbol to see who can give the most to charity. These money guys have used money to keep score; (what other use can they possibly have for such a huge amount of money?) now wouldn't it be great if they would all compete in giving it away?

Is everyone so thrilled with themselves that they read or heard about Warrens invenstment decision?

Well, maybe the foundation is great. But, looking at a website won't answer that question for you. Look at their books.
