Since this is in the marriage & divorce section I say go with your gut. A Private Investigator who was on a radio show I listen to a couple of months ago said people spend tons of bucks trying to validate their gut feeling. It usually turns out to be right.
Other than that, in very general terms, unless they are trained not to do this stuff (like Detectives) most people will do this stuff when lying but they maybe also do it when they are nervous too (like public speaking).
Since the person is creating a conflict between inner knowledge and outer visage their physical person may try to create a greater barrier between themselves and the world.
Including covering their face with their hands. and Avoiding Eye contact.
Often people itch their nose, or get the sniffles. The erectile tissue at the side of the nostiles opens the passages causing the changes. This happens in response to the "fight or flight" reflex their body is going through. They may also pace, or do purposeless body movements, flicking nails, jingling change, etc.
Often people look more to the left when they are lying because they are trying to trying to access the creative side of the brain to tell a good story, When looking to the their right they are more likely to be accessing memory. I'm not sure if this is reversed in left handed people.
People may start to pepper their speech with "reassuring phrases" like "I'm not lying", "Would I lie to you", "I swear I'm telling the truth",” I have no reason to Lie", etc. The more the person denounces lying, the greater chance they are lying.
I.e. "Methinks thou doth protest too much..."
Hope that helps. Best Chance- trust your gut. If you think someone is cheating you may be right.

The way i caught my ex-husband and catch current hubby in lies is let them tell their story and then wait a few days. I will subtly bring up the the subject again to see if there are any discrepancies in the story. If there are then they are lying. A liar will lie to get out of a lie remember that just cuz they will forget what they said in the last lie!!!!
Mark Twain:
Always tell the truth. That way, you don't have to remember what you said.

You can usually tell by body movements and gestures. Some people can not look at you strait in the eye when they are lying. Some people may answer while hesitating or taking long sighs. They are just thinking about what they are going to say next.

If their mouth is moving, they are lying LOL :-)
Seriously, it really depends on the person. Some people can lie
so well that they actually convince themselves they are telling
the truth. See above statement for this person.
Other people have "Tells", just like poker players and they
"tell" is different for everyone. Not always easy to tell.
Good Luck.

Trust your gut! You really know inside when someone is not being honest. There are some really good liars, but try to be objective and listen to the little voice inside. It will never steer you wrong. I know for me, sometimes there was so much evidence, but I wanted to believe my husband, but it turned out he was lying. Wasted a lot of time with that man!

Its all in the eyes, if they cant look you directly in the eye's or they start changing the subject, they start fumbling w/ things ( playing w/ their hands, etc). Your gut will tell ya if they are lying or not!

there is no way to tell if someone is telling you the truth. thats why we have to build trust in people and then we find out they lied and there goes the trust

Most of the time, you can tell by looking in their eyes. There are a few exceptions, but generally speaking, they can't tell you a lie while looking in your eyes.

Thats hard to say, i think if that one person has not lied to you in previous times, then i would think they would not lie to you now.If he or she is a liar and lies all the time, then i would think they were lying about what they told you.*****

Check up on their answer. If you know the person well, sometimes you can tell by facial movement and nervous gesture.
