Hasn't anyone heard of TONY HAWK!?!? Hes a skater and HES not EVIL, doing DRUGS OR poor! he HAS made a good choice in life to skateboard!

Good point, do your best to change the stereotype by being a great skateboarder and staying away from drugs and making good decisions. You have the opportunity to lead by example.

Unfortunately, for most people, skating is not a career choice. Its just not possible that everyone can be pro. That's where the "bad life path choices" idea comes from. And most skaters I know, smoke weed. That's where the drugs come from. The evil part, well, most old people call things evil that they don't understand.

Its not. That is just a stereotype. I skateboard and know alot of skateboarders that are clean cut. Tony Hawk is the prime example. He is the a clean family guy and is also RICH!!!

Skateboarding is a sport, it shouldnt be thought of negatively. The reason that it is tied to drugs however is that many skateboarders use drugs to help them relax while riding. Theres really nothing we can do about that, but when you think about it they mainly die off or quit anyways, while we still ride.

Don't actually know its probly because people assosiate skate boarding to skate parks and thats where most people get drugs ... But whoever said skateboarding was bad should get run over by a truck...

I would tend to think that most people realize that skaters are usually younger boys and girls who just like to have fun with their friends. I could be wrong - it wouldn't be the first time, but anyone with common sense should be able to see that.

its not tied associated or otherwise more so than the sk8rs. i do know many are lil sh*ts that would harass my customers riding on sidewalks etc :o) now they have parks for sk8boarding id love to see how pissed sk8rs would be if tennis players, biz owners and their customers were to use those parks to do other things besides sk8ing ;o) then we'd be evil & arrested
