Small amounts of food thruout the day are much healthier. Big meals are hard on your digestive system. Its like a road, if you have a few cars driving all thruout the day, everything goes smooth. If you have 3 times a day when you eat big meals, its like rush hour and traffic jams for your digestive system. Notice that no other animals sit down and eat on a set schedual.

Hi! It is much better to nibble on healthy snacks during the day. If they are healthy, they will stabilize your blood sugar. There are some people, such as myself, who adhere to some form of food combing. That is a life style of eating certain foods alone or with specific foods so best results are obtained. That smaller portion thing is BS unless you have tons of time to prepare and buy the food. Otherwise eat once a day, but healthy.

I've always been told to eat several small meals throughout the day. i think it keeps your metabolism working in a more efficient way.
