Disturbance...?

Question

Every other night, these kids are lighting off fireworks right by our window at 2 in the morning. I live in an apartment complex and I've called the cops and they said as long as they aren't firing them at our windows or at us, they can't do anything about it.

Is there anything else we can do?

I cannot believe the cops won't do anything about it. Don't you have a curfew for kids? Have you called your apartment manager and complained? If they don't live there, they are trespassing and if they do live there, the manager should talk to the parents and keep them inside.

I managed apartments for years. Fireworks were banned from the property. Kids were not allowed out of their apartments after 11:00 p.m. You must have some rules. I would bet if you call the manager every time the kids are out there, something might be done then. The lease promises you a safe, peaceful place to live. I wouldn't call your apt. a safe, peaceful place at 2:00 a.m.

fire some at your own window then go to bed, then next time they do it, tell the police that the fireworks hit your window. or you can take the mature approach, and talk to the parents...

call child protective services. if they're kids and up at that time of night firing off fire works, well let them get taken away from their parents. obviously their parents are doing their jobs. and how pathetic of the police not to come out and make them knock it off. they're kids up at that time of night!! i think i'd talk to my community councilman.

talk to the parents if they have any. you got any sons or a hubby?
beat the crap out of them. that might help for a while
