Hands down, XP

XP was an astronomical jump from Windows 98. It came a long way from its recent OSs (WINDOWS ME SUCKED!!!)

Anyway, XP introduced a friendly platform for people who weren't really into computers. XP made the use of computers easier for your average person.

If you are stuck with Windows 98, you could upgrade to Linux.

There are Linux distros that are between 50Mb to 100Mb in size for the whole operating system, including Microsoft Office compatible word processor, Photoshop replacement, etc. They will run on PCs with as little as 16Mb of RAM.

Xubuntu is another good Windows 98 replacement that requires a bit more computing power, but that will still run on older hardware.

It's much better than running software that is already 8 years old -- I think that Windows 98 is unsupported now, or will be soon.

XP is far more powerful and easier to use. It's only downfall it doesn't contain microsoft office but I still think it is a better OS. Jules, Australia.
