theres mixed answers, so can someone who has real facts tell me if linkin park is still together

No Linkin Park didnt break up. Most of them just have been busy doing their own thing.
Mike of course is in Fort Minor. Chester has his own solo project he is working on, and opened up a tattoo shop in the southern US. Joseph Hahn has been making short films, and the rest of the band has been doing charitable things around the world.
They finally got back together earlier this year, and are writing a new album. They admit it has been a long time since their last album came out.

Yeah, they are taking time, longer than Evanescence in fact, who also released an album back in 2003 (and a special album of sorts in 2004).
Last I heard they're in the studio recording, after being tied up in record label hassles. They apparantly tried to get out of their record deal, and then re-settled for a new one. That and the solo Fort Minor project have pushed things back.

no they didnt break up and they said on live television that it will be a while before they break up....... you can even go look on their website it will tell you everything you need to know about what is goin on with them lately..... and right now they are makin a new album......
