I set up limewire and put some music that my band made to spread our music around...ya know..in hopes of someone noticing it and visiting our myspace, yadda yadda yadda. Anyways.
I woke up, got on the computer and found HUNDREDS of nasty files. I'm sure you can figure out what I mean. From beastiality, to KIDDY, just f-ing sick. Is it possible for someone to upload files to my computer? How could it have happened???
And another thing, I don't want to risk getting in trouble for this kind of crap...kiddie...videos...those ARE illegal in america as for as I know...just sickening! I know enough about computers that simply throwing stuff in your recycle bin will not erase data....it's still stored on the hard drive....what should I do about removing it?
All I know is I'm not using limewire anymore. >.>

Yes, I've decided I'm just going to contact authorities.

But still, how do you delete files directly off the hard drive?
I'm gonna reformat soon because my computer is going hella slow...don't want anything to get worse then it already is..im sure theres more then just that limewire stuff! >.<

best thing to do if you didn't do a thing is to report it straight away to the authorities as some sort of hacker could be using your computer to get this stuff. people can do all sorts of stuff these days so don't get caught in the middle

You have a Trojan. This allows a person to remotely access your computer. It has nothing to do with Limewire. The Cracker could place a picture on your desktop, or turn off your computer, etc. To destroy Trojan, look for software. As for the pictures, you need to overwrite the files with random data, and delete it. A lot of software will do It for you. I would also encrypt your C: drive, If your really that worried, plus the FBI isn't going to track you. If you don't directly download something that they are tracking, or try to crack into the pentagon, you should be alright.

Ps. Its Cracker, not hacker. People look it up.
Pss. Just deleting it from your Hard drive won't work, computer forensics can trace it down.

It sounds to me like you got some VERY nasty viruses! Get a good antivirus program and clean it up, make sure you have all of the updates to it. Afterwards, make sure to keep it updated.

Also, get a good firewall to help block intruders. I use Zone Alarm, and have little if any trouble.

You'll want to consider an anti-spyware program or two too, such as Ad-aware or Spybot.

Good luck, with your computer and your music!
