A broken heart leaves many scars. I just came out of a 30 year marriage and my heart is crushed. I am sure I can never be a lover again but I still am not a fighter. I understand how you feel. Right now I only want to find myself and be able to live with the pain. It is so hard to put your heart out there, but it is also the only way to truly receive love back. I still would not trade all the wonderful memories I have to have never been hurt. Hang in there, I will be thinking about you.

Look, by getting your heart scarred, you fall into the catigory of Lover. You aren't a happy-go-lucky everything is sunshine and roses falling out of my ***, but you loved enough to be hurt. A tragic lover is a lover still.

Are you smart? Maybe your role is more like a guiding light for lovers and warriors. Teach them what you know.
But really, love is one of those things that you can't really quit. I'm not an emo kid or anything, but seriously, everytime you stop looking for it, it jumps up and bites you in the *** again. Pacifism seems to be a life-long trait for some people, me included.

You are now a man who goes with the flow. You are a man who is afraid of getting hurt, but still have hope of someday meeting someone who will not hurt you. Deep deep down you are still a lover, you are just tired of being wounded. What you can do is don't lose that hope that you have. You know that life is to precious to let it go by with darkness & hate. You love life. Don't let that go.

You sound like me. I'm in the process of opening up my heart again, cracking the steel encasement that was around it for so long. I'm learning how it feels to have a heart that's fully open, but so strong that it's protected from experiencing the negative side of pain. (The positive side being growth and life experience.)
Tis a very scary process, but a wonderfully empowering and enriching one.

every person should try to do something really worthwhile so that after a couple of years, you can turn back and say 'Hey! I did acheive something!'
Relationships come and go. Fix your soul on something great and work towards your goal. You'll realize that even a scarred lion can roar to victory

Maybe you're a referee.
Or maybe the middle of lover and fighter is scientist. Knowledge is king, and beats love and war every time.
