Hemp shouldn't be illegal, but it's the timber industry that opposes legalization the most - hemp would severely cut into its profit margins. As long as we've got a president who cares more about corporations than the average American citizen, well, you know who's going to come out ahead.
P.S. Why do people say "hippie" like it's a bad thing? (We all know hippies invented the Internet ;)

Those are just some of the many reasons weed, in all forms, should be legal. It should be legal to grow, smoke, eat, whatever the hell you want to do with it. It's a plant for goodness sake. And it's not as bad for you as tobacco or alcohol. Very hypocritical to have those things legal and weed still not. That will most likely be the reason I eventually leave this country. Just to think I could go to PRISON for growing some POT plants. Are you ******* kidding me? I am an American citizen, I pay taxes, I have a very good job and a perfectly normal life, and I smoke pot all the time. Does that make me a criminal? Am I going to steal from someone to go score some pot? Am I going to go crazy and hurt someone or myself from smoking pot? Hell no, that is absolutely ridiculous.

Hemp and pot are different, and neither should be illegal. Dear god, pot is a plant like anything growing in nature. Do we go around the US killing poison ivy because people get dangerous allergic to it? NO. So why are we wasting our tax money fighting a plant? To divert energy and attention away from real problems that government doesn't want us to notice. Smoke and mirrors.

I agree with you hemp should definitely be legal. But I don't understand why you asked "should weed really be illegal?". Since you seem to know what you're talking about you should know that hemp and weed (marijuana) are two different things. Don't confuse the two.

It should be legal but think about how much money the government would lose.I don't smoke but did before I had a child to be honest if you want to blow your brain cells on any drug what's it to me?As long as you stay of the road and aren't responsible for any kids go for it .If that's what you chose.but I would hope you have something better to do with your time.Like you were saying all the things you can make out of sativa we need to use this resource.

Well, hemp and pot aren't really the same thing, so, no, I think hemp farming should be legal for legitimate purposes.
By the way, one of the arguments for hemp legalization is that "nobody would get high if they smoked their shoes" (i.e. hemp won't get you buzzed). Just thought it was funny.

I do wish hemp would be used more. And I do think smoking weed should be legal. As long as you don't hurt someone else, who is the government to tell you what you can and can't do?

I love hemp! It's not marijuana if that's what you meant, though you can smoke hemp. I don't know anyone who does.
I have several hemp items, but yes I think they should use it more than they do. They will if more people buy hemp products.

Hemp should be decriminalized.
All drugs should be decriminalized.
People who give drugs to children or advertise drugs to attract children to drug use should be put to death, like tobacco advertisers.
Only tenth of one percent of the illegal drugs are being interdicted in the war on drugs. We have lost that war. It's not worth fighting. What we need to do now it take all the profit out of the drug trade so criminals and terrorists cannot support the abuse of others.
Sure, some people will use drugs. They do now. If we decriminalize drugs, make them cheap, tax drug sales, everyone comes out ahead but criminals and terrorists.
