No. I'm not one for superstition. I think everything happens for a reason. If your flight's delayed, then maybe it's a way of keeping you from having your flight crash or having a bad experience when you land...or maybe just from having a little bump in the air and then spilling your soda all over your brand new white skirt right in front of the cutest guy on the plane. Who knows? One thing's for sure, you should definitely always bring something with you. You don't want to be sitting in an airport for two hours with nothing to do...you'll be bored out of your skull. Not a good thing.

I am a student of superstition from being a baseball coach, and I never heard this one. Things happen with airlines, as they are so dependent upon weather and other factors. You may consider it bad luck, but the airlines deal with it all the time. If you miss a connection, that is bad luck, but you want to be an active air traveller by asking about how delays may affect your plans, so you make changes as need be.
I guess if you watch The Amazing Race, you might have a different view, because there were cases when delays actually helped some teams, because they found other flights to make connections earlier.

Bad luck? No, nature of the beast. Airlines have changed the way they do business over the last few years with more and more going to the "hub" system. That is, a major airline will pick airports across the country as a base to funnel airtravelers for connections to fill flights going to popular destinations. One example is Delta Airlines. Their hubs are Atlanta, Salt Lake City, and Cincinnati. The flights are set to arrive at the hubs to coincide with the departures of these popular flights which means a lot of flights arriving at the same time. These are peak times and occur several times through the day. So, if a thunderstorm happens to pass through during one of these peak times, it can cause havoc in trying to land all these planes which are turned around (reboarded and restocked) to continue their route on time. Keep in mind, most airports do not allow ground crew to service airplanes meaning fueling, restocking, luggage loading or removing, with lightening present. So it is not unusual anymore for planes to be delayed. Nothing to do with luck. Sit back relax and have a great flight.

Bad luck? Not really...mostly irritating...and an annoying waste of time...Especially if you are going on holiday. Take it in your stride, and make sure you have reading material to keep your mind occupied while waiting (Or a game machine if you don't enjoy reading).
But better a delay and a good flight afterwards, than a plane with a problem and a scare in the air!!

nope, it's business as usual. If it were bad luck, every person who ever traveled via airplane would lose their houses, their spouses, their cars and their dogs after every trip.
