Technically when she gets her period. Emotionally everyone is different. If you have to ask you might not be there yet. Age 25 is a nice mature number.

A girl stops being a child and starts being a woman when she has learned to be responsible and to follow her morals in all her decisions, even if the moral way is not the easy way. My 13 year old niece is an excellent example. Recently she was invited to a party by one of her peers. She asked and was told the party would be chaperoned by parents. When she arrived at the party, she discovered that no parents were present. Even though she wanted very much to stay at the party with her friends, she called her mother and asked to be picked up. She cried all the way home. When I asked her why she didn't stay at the party, she said it was because most of her friends didn't know how to behave without parental supervision, and she wants to wait until she marries before having sex. She said that she was also really angry that her friend lied to her. She is allowed a set number of rides to and from special events every month. It cost her one of her special events because her friend lied and she responded by doing what she knew was right. She is a woman, even though she is not yet allowed to vote or live by herself, she is more mature than some of those I know who have been voting and living alone for years. She has saved half of her birthday and Christmas money for college ever since she was six, not because she had to, but because she doesn't want to "spend retirement in poverty like grampa Bud." She wants to go to a good college and start her own business. If you have doubts about what is right, ask a trusted adult, such as your parents or the pastor at your church. It's what an adult would do.

It really depends on how mature you are. At 16, if you can get a job, pay for your own car and dont depend all on your parents then you are a woman. Sometimes people say it is 18 where u can party and you go to college, some people say 21 where you can drink have fun and you only have 1 more year of college before graduate school. In my eyes though it is how quickly you can mature.

It's not about the age.
If you mean "phisically" a girl starts being a woman when she gets her first period. But the truth is that adulthood is "psycological". Some girls in non-developed countries marry and start working very had at the age of 12! And they start thinking as adults. Some girls, are already in college, but they have always lived with their parents protection so they behave like little kids... So, I say age has nothing to do.

I would say that it depends on the girl.. I have known some girls that think they are women, and some women that think they are girls! Life throws so much "stuff" at us..we all learn and mature at different rates. I personally believe that you have finally become a woman when you can put the needs of those you love ahead of your own ego-based wants and needs. I'm not saying that all women do that all of the time, but for the most part, I think that is a good gauge of "being grown-up".

i guess I frequently commence calling a lady a lady if she sounds like her body is totally more desirable and he or she's over about 18 or so, yet fantastically if she has change into self sufficient and has taken on adult usual jobs. If she has persevered reckoning on her father and mom for help and has few usual jobs, I see her extra as an overgrown female. "female" implies adulthood yet we've traits that mature at diverse charges. Reproductive adulthood will frequently ensue between 10 and 18 years previous; finished top will frequently ensue many years after reproductive adulthood; mind progression is regularly finished through the mid 20s and we ask your self if some by no skill mature their behaviour regardless of ways lengthy they stay ;-)

I don't think that a girl becomes a woman by how old she turns. I think a girl becomes a woman after she starts her menstrual cycle, because only then are her reproductive organs ready to bring children into the world, and she is ready to be a mother.
