yeah - I find them really relaxing - where else can you sit around for hours with nothing that needs to be done and with so many opportunities for people watching?

You know, because waiting in the airport gives you time to read, think and relax, I think that I COULD like airports if they were more architecturally interesting, and decorated with plush chairs and exciting colors. Also, more plants would make it a more pleasant environment. I guess that the sterile atmosphere with long, white-floored corridors and uncomfortable plastic seating makes it hard to enjoy the enforced time off from the rest of your life. But with a few small changes, it could be a wonderful part of travel; something to look forward to.

No.

This is why: The airport makes my plane wait to land becuase there is to much traffic on the runways. Which leaves me running from one end of the building to the other and I still miss my connection, making me throw up. Then being told by northwest that my plane landed with "plenty of time" to make the connection so I have to pay for a hotel on my credit card since the next flight is over 24 hours away.... just because the airline doesn't pay for non weather realted delays!

For what? I've spent lots of time in them, thanks to long layovers and such, and one hasn't stood out from the other, really. The restrooms are generally tidy, which I appreciate since I like to arrive at my destination with a clean face and fresh teeth. The gift shops are always overpriced, so I take my own reading materials and snacks. So far, the nicest airport security workers I've come across are in San Antonio.

I had a flight out of Ontario, CA, once that was delayed, and I had to run across Sky Harbor in Phoenix to make my next flight. Sky Harbor is HUGE! At least I didn't have to feel bad about missing the gym that day.

Not at all. First there is not a single employ in the entire airport that speaks English. Second way to crowded. Third the flights are never on time which screws everything up. I hate them.

Going to the airport isn't what it used to be.
Last summer, after packing four bags (suitcase, garment bag, train case, carry-on) plus my purse I get to the airport to find that I could only have two checked-in pieces! My trip was for 10 days! I already knew I could have only two carry-on's. I had to stuff my purse in my garment bag and carry it on. Plus it sucks that at any airport, you have to lug your carry-on bags around EVERYWHERE you go. If you leave them abandoned for more than one second they want to search it to make sure no bombs are in it. I also miss the days where you could give farewells and greetings at the gate.
At Indianapolis International, it took me only two minutes to go through the security checkpoint. At Tampa International, I had to go through it twice AND the second time I had to take my shoes off and put them on the x-ray belt because they said a bomb could be concealed in the kind I was wearing (I was wearing flat sandals!). Almost made me miss my flight.

Anyway airport is just an exciting place when you depart and arrive by plane as well as you will meet and welcome your love ones, aside from that you can have shopping and the most annoying is the sounds of airplane that blows my head up!And also I don't like to see people panic about their flight and baggage!
