Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, North & South Carolina (sometimes), um... Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri (the lower part), Kentucky.
That is if you are talking about Southern as in country, redneck.
But if you are talking about actual south of the US, get a map! lol

I think any state under the Virginia, Tennessee, border just kinda go by those state lines and anything underneath would be considered the south. States like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Arizona, South Carolina, Nevada would be southern states.

during the Civil War there was the north and south, dividing them was the Mason Dixon Line which I believe are the states south of the Virginia's including the Virginia's and no not South Dakota
