I'm not a nurse or a doctor.
But, I've been on the wheel of interfility if that counts for anything.
I have taken the 50 mg of Clomid. The 50 mg is stronger. Some doctors keep going up to get the desired result. A lot of that stems from the fact that most insurance companies will pay for Clomid, even in larger doses. But, won't pay for the good stuff like Gonal F/Pergonyl.
When I took the higher dose of Clomid I had bad emotional reactions. I was a nut case and felt like I was losing my mind, literally. It was horrible. However, not all women feel this way. I have friends that have used it and report no such symptoms. Every woman is different just be aware of the side effects. You should have got them with your script if your doc didn't tell you.
My advice would be to skip the Clomid higher does and go with the good stuff. Ask your doctor why he keeps giving Clomid.
Also, check out the internet for Clomid. I found that after 6 months on Clomid you up your risk for Ovarian cancers and other female cancers. So, if taking for six months you need to give yourself a break to remain healthy.
Ask about alternatives. Save up for them in case you may have to go that route. Also, most doctors will let you pay as you go. Find one that will work with their patients. This usually means a good patient/dr relationship. As the treatment is expensive and regular folks to can't afford it.
Best of luck!

Clomid 25mg is a mild dose used for first time clomid users. Should that not do the trick..the dosage is dbubled to 50mg. The difference is strength, clearly.

the only difference in the two is the 25mg clomid wont bring a cycle as often as the 50mg. It depends on how infertile the patient is when prescribing the drug

They start you off on the lower dose. If you ovulate, they don't use the higher dose. Look it up online...you seriously think that Doctors or nurses have time for a stupid question site...get a grip
