I wondered if its bolt on. What are the differences between the 90 and 115 powerheads? Carbs?

The boat needs more power.

It is the same engine with a different carb.

If the boat needs more power reduce the prop's pitch to where the engine will operate at the proper RPM at wide open throttle(WOT)

pghmarty correct. You may be a lot better off just swapping Props. Look at the one you have now. It may be a 19 Pitch. Try a 17 Pitch. IF it a 17 try a 15. You lose some speed (not Always) for more power. The lower Pitch Number will increase Full Throttle RPM's also.
When you say 3 cly I think you mean the Carburetors. Both these Engines have 6 cylinders and 3 carburetors. One Carb for two cylinders.
IF, the props not help you may consider changing the Carbs from the 115 over to the 90. I would not swap the whole Powerhead unless I had too. But, I not sure, I guess the 115 Carbs may have larger Jets, but, may need to know if the Difference in these Engines is in the Carbs or Cylinder Bore/Stroke.
